Brockton City Councilor-at-Large
Councilor-at-Large Winthrop Farwell, Jr., represents all residents of Brockton as a member of the Brockton City Council. There are four (4) at-large councilors and seven (7) other councilors elected from wards who represent specific geographical areas of the city.
One of his most important responsibilities is to provide honest, factual information on the issues which contribute to the quality of life in our city. Brockton has at least 105,000 residents. The decisions made by the mayor and city council, as well as the school committee, are part of what makes living in our community a positive experience. To that end, he consistently presents information to provide constituents with details about important issues and policies. If you call for assistance or information, you WILL receive a return call and/or be referred to the appropriate city department. Political office is about helping people!

Election 2025
Every two (2) years the city holds an election for mayor, city council and school committee. I am a candidate for renomination in the Preliminary Election on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. With much humility and with a clear focus on improving our city, I ask for your support. Btockton faces many challenges as do all communities in Massachusetts. If we listen to our residents, work in a cooperative and professional manner with residents, business owners and community-based organizations, we will achieve progress. That is my personal commitment as a member of the city council member. Please take the time to vote on September 16th.
My work as a councilor-at-large is always changing with different issues: Public Safety, Education, Environmental Issues, Municipal Finance. Making the best decisions for our city takes time to research these issues and then vote in the best interests of all residents. I enjoy the work and am honored to represent you. Please contact me anytime if questions or concerns arise.
My best to you and your family,
Win Farwell
